When the Not Your Average Joe’s decided to open in Gaithersburg, Maryland, the 17th in the company’s family of restaurants, they retained Clark Communications to help them spread the word and generate local support. Clark immediately worked to identify and engage key local leaders and arranged publicity about the new restaurant in local publications and on local television. Positive articles later appeared in a host of local newspapers whose demographic reach perfectly matched that desired by the client. Finally, we created and orchestrated a ribbon cutting ceremony featuring the mayor, members of the city council and many members of local community groups. At the ceremony, the mayor presented our client with a proclamation announcing the day as “Not Your Average Joe’s Day.” The founder and CEO of our client described the event as the “best day he had had in 18 years of business.”
